Ashley
A rookie farmer, Ashley has spent the last 2 years volunteering at Heifer Ranch and is now striking out on her own with a small flock of chickens and ducks, a can-do attitude, and a determination to learn it all. Though her family back in Arizona probably thinks she's crazy, we can't get enough of her charming smile and her incredible organic sprouts.
Lindsay
Originally from Minneapolis, MN she found her way to Arkansas back in 2006. Since then she has cultivated a love of farming, especially pigs though she is just now learning how to eat them. A gourmand and a francophile, she's the one at the potluck with complicated, gorgeous, and breathtakingly delicious nibbles that were "easy" to make.
Katie
Though she started out with sheep, Katie has embraced several other "meat makers" since launching Farm Girl in 2004 and now divides her attention between the flock, a few cattle, a plethora of pigs, and two kids of her own.
Will
The only native Arkansan among us, Will has been growing and breeding his own laying hens for years and years, only now agreeing to share the fruits of his labor with the rest of us. He's also determined to turn his rocky clay soil into a garden of eden, his motley crew of horses into a bomb-proof buggy team, and his new sow into a piglet producer.
Amber
Hailing from Missouri, this former missionary kid has seen the world and decided to start her flower garden here in Central Arkansas. Though her day job has her managing groups at Heifer Ranch, she moonlights as a master flower arranger with an eye for graceful, clever composition.
Mary Christine (MC)
A former new Englander, MC has gotten her hands dirty in vegetable gardens all over the country, but her love of summer and all things Arkansas keeps bringing her home to Perryville. Now she's training to become an elementary science teacher, pinch hitting for the other farm girls on market days and in the calendar, and planning her return to organic gardening in the seasons to come.
